Icom finally published the official release date and the recommended price. The IC-7300 should be available by January 2016 at a price of about 140,000yen, that is equal to about US$ 1,200 or EUR 1,100

transceiver in 2016, as it's the first direct-sampling SDR from one of the HAM manufacturers, offers a working large-screen spectrum display and is expected to be quite affordable (more details in the original Icom IC-7300 article).
This is even lower than the initially announced price of "around 150,000 yen", an unless there is something really wrong with it, I predict it will be worth the buy.
ICOM obviously expect it to sell very well since they planned a quantity of 2000 units per year, 4 times that for the IC-7100.
This new model has a high-performance real-time spectrum scope and employs a new RF direct sampling system. The IC-7300’s real-time spectrum scope provides top-level performance in resolution, sweep speed and dynamic range. While listening to received audio, the operator can check the real-time spectrum scope and quickly move to the intended signal. The combination of the real-time spectrum scope and waterfall function improves the quality and efficiency of HF operation.

ReplyDeleteBut crucially, will that also be the price for the overseas 100W version?
